Terms and conditions
If for any reason Side by Side Tours needs to cancel your booking, you have the choice to either re-book for a later date or accept a full refund. All changes to reservations and cancellations can only be accepted in writing via email.
Tours will not proceed if Side by Side Tours decide for safety reasons or other reasonable reasons, to cancel a tour.
By law, all passengers must wear a helmet (Side by Side Tours will supply).
By law, we cannot carry children under 6 years of age and we are unable to carry customers who weigh over 130kg.
Passengers riding as Pillion must wear enclosed shoes.
The Side by Side Driver/Tour Guide may ask passengers to sit in either the sidecar or pillion seat for the safety of all passengers.
Gift certificates are transferable but NOT refundable.
When making a booking less than 14 days before the planned tour date, we require the full cost of the tour to be paid at the time of booking.
The tour fees quoted covers fuel, insurances, use of our biking gear (helmets, wet weather jackets, goggles and blankets).
When making a booking 30 days or more before the planned tour date, we require a minimum of 25% deposit of the total cost. The remainder must be paid no less than 14 days before the tour date. Failing this, we reserve the right to cancel the booking & withhold deposits already paid.
Side by Side Tours will not be liable for any loss or expense caused by loss of property, cancellation or curtailment of any tour, however it was caused. If sickness or accident interrupts a tour, Side By Side Sidecar Tours shall not be liable for any cost or expense arising therefrom and will not be liable for any refund, either partial or total, of money paid.
Severe Weather Policy
If there is the possibility of heavy rain on the day of your booked tour, you can decide to either:
1. Elect to take the tour at a later time or date agreed by Side By Side Tours or use the credit available towards a future sidecar outing.
2. Elect to take the planned tour regardless of the weather.
3. Elect to accept a 75% refund.
Once you have agreed to commence the tour, Side By Side Tours will have no financial obligation towards the customer should the weather deteriorate during the tour.
All reservations, changes & cancellations will only be accepted in writing via email. Quotes can be provided on request for any special services not specified in the various tour options.
Booking 1 or 2 sidecars
If you choose to cancel a fully paid booking, the following cancelation fees as a percentage of the total will apply:
- 21 days or more from the agreed pickup time - 0%*
- Between 20 days and 7 days from the agreed pickup time - 25%*
- Between 7 days and 3 days from the agreed pickup time - 50%*
- Less than 72 hours from the agreed pickup time - 100%
Booking 3 or more sidecars
If you choose to cancel a fully paid group booking, the following cancelation fees as a percentage of the total will apply:
- More than 30 days from the agreed pickup time - 0%*
- Between 30 days and 14 days from the agreed pickup time - 25%*
- Between 14 days and 7 days from the agreed pickup time - 50%*
- Between 7 days and 3 days prior to the agreed pickup time - 75%*
- Less than 72 hours prior to the agreed pickup time - 100%
If a passenger(s) fails to join the tour, or attempts to join it after departure, or leaves it prior to completion, no refund, pro-rata’d fee or otherwise, will be given.
Delayed Pick-up policy
Side By Side Tours allows a 30-minute leeway of the agreed pick-up times. If the client or group exceed this leeway, we may choose to either withdraw our sidecars & terminate the tour at full cost to the client, or agree to wait, with an additional charge of NZ$50 per 30 minutes being added to the cost for each bike delayed.
*statutory charges and credit card charges may be applicable. If bookings are made in currencies other than New Zealand dollars, currency fluctuations may vary the final refund.
